The CFA has announced that any country that wishes not to play flagneptune Neptune in any World Cup match, as long as due to the current political instability, should explicitly tell us no later than Wednesday 29 April (as of UTC+2). We've already registered:
- flagsouthkordom South Kordom
- flagluir Luir-Landodios
- Pohunskia
flagengeos Engeos v flagwhitelands Whitelands
Group B *** Tuesday 28 April 18.00 *** Rainbow Stadium, flagrainbowislands Arcenciel *** Referee: flagarabiyyah Sophie Hille flagengeos 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋 v flagwhitelands TobbzA fast start like this one is rare in the CFA World Cup: Engeos defender Stefan Čysty needed only four minutes to deliver a magnificent long-distance pass to Francis Gutav, who collected it in mid-air and scored with his left leg. All who were present, even the Engeosians, were astonished by their early lead, and further outbreaks failed to appear for some time. But once again it were the Engeosians who took the initiative, and in the 37th minute it was Marcel Ubor who doubled the score after snatching the ball away from the day-dreaming defense. (Yet another alliteration… I should stop, shouldn’t I?) Engeos didn’t think another goal would be essential for their victory, and so half time was reached with a 2-0 score. Some time after the break, fatigue kicked in, and the Whitelandics started consuming their three substitutions, with Haakon Loncar, Edric Vandale and Juán King entering the pitch successively. The Engeosian coach, however, refused to bring in fresh players for unknown reasons, and so the Whitelands gradually took over the game. They had almost 80% possession during the last twenty minutes, but scarcely managed to create any real chances, keeping the score similar to the half time score.

Better luck next time! There's still Pohunskia & flagkeyholeland Keyholeland to play, so you can still qualify to the quarter-finals!

flagkeyholeland Keyholeland v PohunskiaGroup B *** Tuesday 28 April 21.00 *** Sport Arena, flagrainbowislands Ostadar *** Referee: flagsivania Benjamin Townsend flagkeyholeland Dylan v Logan Keyholeland versus Pohunskia, two debutants facing each other in what is often called the strongest group. Both teams have quite a few promising young players as well as some experienced older ones. But would they meet the expectations? At first, it didn’t really seem like it, for the first twenty minutes looked like it was still the warming-up. A warming-up which ended with a lucky shot by Pohunskia midfielder Miston Deyonaz, unnecessarily missed by Keyholeland goalkeeper Lee Brendan. It took Pohunskia exactly 88 seconds to pull the score level again. Yes, Pohunskia, because after a corner kick Alexander Sekzyass accidentally headed the ball into his own goal. But there was an even more surprising twist in the 32nd minute: Keyholeland defender Kristjan Andressen passed the ball back to Brendan, who stumbled on a clump of grass, fell and saw the ball slowly yet inexorably rolling into his goal, marking the second own goal of the evening. That was the breaking point for the Keyholians: they pulled out all the stops and took the Pohunskians by surprise. It was only thanks to the skills and concentration of their goalkeeper Nothina Pasina Us that Pohunskia wasn’t facing a 6-2 arrears at half time: it was 1-2 and it would stay 1-2. The second half started off promising, with the Pohunskians taking the initiative this time and getting fairly close to extending their lead more than once. But this also lead to nothing, and the game was about to completely run out of action. Which changed in the last ten minutes, in which the Pohunskians Henry Gozan and T.J. Simons got a yellow card for sudden aggression towards Keyholian players. Free kicks brought the Keyholians almost back into the match, but Pasina Us did his job well. In short, it was a crazy match with a somewhat hideous ending.
