Whoops, accidentally created this board in the "Country Updates" board... @lolzwut Would you mind creating a separate board for the CFA World Cup?

flagrainbowislands Rainbow Islands v flagdasmia DasmiaGroup A *** Monday 27 April 18.00 *** Arconbé Stadium, flagrainbowislands Arconbé *** Referee: flagrepublicablanca Joan Ferrer flagrainbowislands Julian v flagdasmia BlandineAfter a breathtaking opening ceremony, which featured performances by Velile & Safri Duo, Jennifer Lawrence, Ella Henderson and many more, it was finally time for the Spring 2015 edition of the CFA World Cup to kick off. The opening match started lively, with the Rainbow Islands putting the Dasmian goal under fire time after time and Marc Highberg scoring after only eleven minutes through a flawless lob. Despite several close attempts on goal by the hosts, the score stayed 1-0, and twenty-five minutes into the game their dominance subsided, yet the Dasmians still couldn’t create actual chances. Half time came and saw Rainbow Islands striker Thomas Gray replaced by Zacharias Avery, propably on account of Gray’s yellow card in the 39th minute. In the first five minutes of the second half, nothing significant happened, but in the 51st minute Highberg struggled himself through the Dasmian defence (nice alliteration, isn’t it? ) and shot the ball right past their goalkeeper, Liam Maciness. With a score of 2-0, the Dasmians had had quite enough, and slowly started forcing back the Rainbow Islands. Substitute Trevor Horton entered the pitch during the 55th minute, arranged a corner kick in 27 seconds’ time, and sent the ball spiralling towards Thomas Thorne, who headed it over goalkeeper Kevin Murk and into the goal. Now the Dasmians started dreaming of the equaliser, and assaulted Murk’s goal with even more combativeness. The goalposts and the crossbar, however, repeatedly prevented the 2-2, as well as Murk’s impulsive antics. A final offensive by the Rainbow Islands lead to nothing, and so the result was no more than 2-1 in favour of the hosts.

flagsouthkordom South Kordom v flagescogrecia EscogreciaGroup A *** Monday 27 April 21.00 *** Beach Stadium, flagrainbowislands Kanevedenn *** Referee: flagartntry Anna Ramírez flagsouthkordom Matt v flagescogrecia ApostolisThe second match of the day marked a milestone in the history of the CFA World Cup: South Kordom vs. Escogrecia was the first ever World Cup match to be refereed by a woman. The Artntrian Anna Ramírez had the honour. The first few minutes of the match were fairly boring, with both sides neutralising each other. Relief for the spectators came in the 16th minute, when Escogrecia striker Jedward Rose approached from the flank, passed Kordom keeper Alexander Smith and placed the ball neatly inside the goal. Unfortunately, the behavior of the two teams remained, and the match plodded on. The action only came in the 33rd minute, after the equaliser was made by David Lucas out of a corner kick. This made the Escogrecians wake up, resulting in a series of attempts on goal, followed by several counterattacks by the Kordanese. The liveliness of the game clearly slackened after the half-time break, as both sides returned to the malaise of the first half hour. Lucas’ second goal of the evening, made in the rebound of Benedict Asbjörn’s long shot, didn’t change much to that. Only in the last five minutes the game picked up again, with the Escogrecians continuously assaulting South Kordom’s goal, and the now more alert Kordanese attempting a lucky shot every now and then. The climax came far in injury time, when Escogrecia striker Franck Snitsel got the ball in front of a virtually empty Kordanese goal, but missed.
