MELODIFESTIVALEN 2019 HOSTS REVEALED The press conference has just ended, and SVT can finally reveal that a total of four people will be hosting the competition in 2019. The hosts contain the following people: Marika Carlsson, Eric Saade , Kodjo Akolor, and Sarah Dawn Finer.
Amongst the four, we have a MF competing and hosting veteran, namely Sarah Dawn Finer, who hosted the competition both in 2012 and 2016, and also competed in 2007 with "I Remember Love" and 2009 with "Moving On".
Alongside Miss Finer, we have three other people who will be hosting for the first time.
Marika Carlsson is a comedian, who has won herself "Female Comedian of the Year" in 2006 and 2012.
Kodjo Akolor is a radio and TV host, who has also taken part six years in a row in the charity radio show "Musikhjälpen".
And last, but not least, we have Eric Saade, who competed in MF three times before, with "Manboy" in 2010, "Sting" in 2015, as well as a victory with "Popular" in 2011, also giving Sweden a respectable 3rd place at Eurovision in Düsseldorf, Germany. He was also the greenroom host during the time Eurovision was held in Malmö, Sweden in 2013.
A most diverse, yet exciting host lineup we have. Now all we have left is the final 28 lineup, and we can let the Melfest 2019 season begin!

Oh so after Felix it's now Oscar's turn Oh and btw. why wouldn't Margaret allow herself to compete again?
And 2 little wishes of mine: Please let Wiktoria sing something like As I lay me down (Save me was overrated. ) and Nano again a song like Hold on (I'm still confused how this went to #5 here.)

Oh and btw. why wouldn't Margaret allow herself to compete again? Technically, nothing is stopping her, since SVT would actually want her to compete again, since she - as a foreigner - did better than SVT expected, but it's up to Margaret whether she wants to try again or not. So it's not much of a situation like: Margaret: "Here's a song. Can I compete?" SVT: "Sure!"but more of a SVT: "We'd like to have you in again. Would you be interested in that?"To which Margaret has yet to confirm anything, so whether we'll be seeing her in 2019 or not is up to her

now that I'm finally back from stockholm FOUR NEW NAMES RUMOURED TO BE IN
After a massive long four weeks without any new 100% safe sources, we can reveal that this morning, four new names has been heavily rumoured.
These names include Jan Malmsjö, Anton Hagman, Vlad Reiser, and Bishara Morad.
Jan Malmsjö is a oldie, and has actually competed in Melfest before, which was 50 years ago, in 1969 with "Hej clown", finishing 2nd, right behind Tommy Körberg's "Judy min vän". Aftonbladet's Tobbe Ek could also reveal that Jan's return isn't more of a revenge of his 1969 placement, but more of a fun thing to re-do after many years.
Anton Hagman should be a known face to a bunch of people, as he last competed in 2017, and is mostly known for his notorious work of beating Loreen in the second chance. Sources mention that he did indeed decline the invitation for the 2018 version, but has now given a approval to be part of the 2019 version.
Bishara Morad is fairly new to the music scene, but is quickly gaining attention in the same scene, with 90,000 followers on his instagram account. Morad, only being 15 at the very moment, is actually having his birthday two weeks before the first semi final begins, making him eligible for the competition.
And lastly, Vlad Reiser is a youtuber, mostly working on the comedy side. But despite his comedy-side, it is said that Vlad will not be taking part with a novelty song, but an actual uptempo-pop song.
But that's not the end, as Ann-Louise Hanson has also now gotten the approval from several sources that she is definitely in the competition, making 2019 her 14th appearance, still holding the record for most participation by one act.

I have a feeling I will complain a lot this MF season. Who are all these and where are the good names?! Why is Björkman giving spots to Hanson and Malmsjö when we all know they are bottom 1 confirmed?!

I have a feeling I will complain a lot this MF season. Who are all these and where are the good names?! Why is Björkman giving spots to Hanson and Malmsjö when we all know they are bottom 1 confirmed?! I feel like I will complain as well, but to the exact opposite. Out of the five revealed, I was actually more excited for both Hanson and Malmsjö, considered they would give us something different for a change (plus that both are lovely people in general), while for Hagman, Morad, and Reiser, I just feel like SVT is going the same dreadful route as 2018. The reason 2018 was a catastrophe was - not only the lack of good shows - but the fact that a large majority of songs were nothing but mediocre, or either lacked something that made it distinguishable from the rest of the line up (to which barely any songs in 2018 stood out, as most songs were just radio pop. There's a reason that "My Turn" or "Every Single Day" entered the top 3, lol). And just looking at the three younger acts revealed today, does anyone really except them to have anything besides your average-to-everyday (radio) pop? Of course, if the song ends up actually being something, I'll prove myself wrong, but at the moment, none of these seem to even remotely scream "these will do really great" at first. (Considering Björkman literally abandoned rock for 2018, I'm still having a high standard for pop songs to actually sound good, and not sound like a song created for radio purposes only *coffOLIVIAcoff*) Malmsjö and Hanson are also potentially not gonna do well, but to my defense, they would probably bring out a diverse song choice amongst a field of mainstream stuff, and there has been cases of oldies actually making it through in the past recent years, so it's kinda too early to determine that, but that's just how I see it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And I am pretty sure Björkman (and Tobbe) is keeping the bigger names to the very end, so all we've gotta do is wait
