DIE RÜCKKEHR Austria is the first country to announce their return after a one-edition break. Good news from Vienna! Although popularity and interest in the contest are still at a low point, ORF tries to encourage its viewers by maintaining a participation in North Vision Song Contest. For the 35th edition, the Austrian broadcaster has announced their wish to return to the competition, citing that "the Austrian fans are disappointed and saddened that they could not vote for their neighbour, Germany, this edition, as the entry has been popular for some time". That is scheduled to change. There's uncertainty in the method Austria will opt for in selecting their next entry. Calls for a national selection have been made for some editions now, but dropped due to lack of funding. Public support for an internal selection is at an high, and experts doubt that an open national selection may result in the best quality-affirmative winner the country can offer.

How does withdrawing work again? Just kidding, it's's not going to happen today. In fact Israel confirms. However it's only provisionally because there are a few things I'd like to figure out at first. Full post will be written after the final results of #34.

Monaco confirms!
Tuesday, 8 December • 14:41 Earlier today, TMC, the Monégasque broadcaster, once again confirmed that Monaco would be present in the 35th edition of the North Vision Song Contest, regardless of the result achieved by Pace in Bratislava. This marks the second participation of the microstate under the new delegation team."We're really pleased with how Pace have done - bringing us back to the final after a short time away - and are also really excited to see how they fare in the grand final, with a pretty high betting odds placement, interest in the contest is still at a high level, so of course we are confirming for the 35th edition," a spokesperson for TMC announced this afternoon, "And we're anxiously looking forward to the results of the 34th edition, hoping that potentially we can get a top ten result or maybe more!"
"Ahead of the 35th edition, we have already made plans to host another open call to artists from both France and Monaco, for another internal selection. For now, a national selection event isn't on the cards, though it has been discussed and considered, and maybe in the future it is something we will look into further. But for now, we want to keep going with our current internal method and see where it gets us - we're very excited for the future of Monaco in NVSC!"
Stay tuned for more information! TMC © 2020 • Published on 8 December 2020

RTL confirms Luxembourg's continued presence Last edition, a unforeseen tragedy happened in the second semi-final when former contest winner Luka Kloser failed to qualify for the Grand Final. This resulted in viewers across Luxembourg being crushed, spreading unverified claims about voters outside the country being unable to call the number associated to the Luxembourger entry. However, it was later confirmed that no irregularities were suspected.
The Luxembourger Head of Delegation went on to say, "obviously, we are all disappointed having came to the contest as a favorite. However, it is important that we respect the result of the public and juries, and move on to the next edition, stronger than before."
Following his statement, RTL confirmed Luxembourg's participation for the 35th contest, with the head of entertainment in the local broadcaster stating that the focus in 2021 would be for "artists that can bring their unique vision to [NVSC]."
