RIGA // 20/12/2020 Latvia confirms for NVSC #35 Following the 23rd Place of Kashuks in the Grand Final of NVSC #34, in Bratislava, which includes the surprising qualification in the final, marking the first final of the Baltic nation since NVSC #24, it was for sure obvious that the country will be present for the 35th edition, that will be likely hosted in Russia.
"Last edition, we managed to prove that with a song that is not familiar to the fans and the North Vision family can actually qualify, and defy any expectations, as the odds were predicting Latvia to go back to the Pre Qualification Round. And we sure will celebrate that 23rd place, marking our first final since NVSC 24, and we hope we will continue this way." said by the Latvian Head of Delegation Sebastians Dzelzītis.
As of now, it is expected that the Internal Selection that managed to pick Kashuks will be renewed for #35, with the expectation and the hope that more Latvian singers will try their luck by entering the selection. More informations is expected to come by the end of January 2021.

Iceland confirms participationDecember 20, 2020 • Reykjavík, Iceland RÚV, the Icelandic broadcaster, has just confirmed that despite a quite unsuccessful edition for the country in Bratislava, where G Y Ð A represented the nation with her song Í Annarrí Vídd and failed to qualify, placing 16th with 97 points, Iceland will be present in the 35th edition of the contest.
Originally, the broadcaster was going to wait until 2021 to confirm or withdraw from the upcoming edition. However, after a meeting last night in Reykjavík, the team agreed to participate in the next edition, even if it means that Iceland will need to go through the pre-qualification round to participate in Russia. Many on the team were opposed to participating in the pre-qualification round, but in the end the decision was made to not withdraw. The HoD of the country stated that:
Obviously, this is not the outcome that we hoped for and I would be lying if I said I wasn't angry or disappointed at the result. However, we do need to accept these results as they are and just try our luck in the pre-qualification round. It is a risk for sure, but realistically it's unlikely we would make it to Russia otherwise.
In addition, the HoD confirmed that Iceland would be participating on a much lower budget due to this scenario, and that the national selection Ferðin til... would be scrapped until further notice, as the delegation sees no need in allocating extra funds to it due to participating in the pre-qualification round. Thus, the Icelandic entry will be selected internally and will more than likely be selected in January 2021. Submissions are now open.
In the meantime, we are open to your suggestions. Our form is always open here! RÚV © 2020

The 34th edition of the North Vision Song Contest got to an end, and what an amazing edition that was! The Ukrainian audience was in full euphoria after discovering that KLER placed 3rd with an astonishing amount of 352 points. In the semifinal, she placed 2nd behind Belgium. It is already quite a long time ago since Ukraine placed in the Top 3, the last time being in edition #29 with "No. 1" by Artem Pivovarov (2nd place).
Not wasting any more time, the Ukrainian delegation already confirmed its presence in the upcoming Grand Final of the North Vision Song Contest, which will be held for the very first time in our neighboring country Russia.
The selection method is not determined to this time, yet there are several talks about the continuation of PNV as our selection method. Rumours tell that there might be a different system within our national selection series. But until then...
...stay tuned for more! NTU © 2020 • Published on 20th December 2020
