IRELAND CONFIRMS!Following a respectable 20th place in the final of the 34th edition (we’re not talking about the semifinal tho) achieved by Talos, Ireland is ready to deliver another amazing performance in Russia. Even tho the new format of the selection was a success, it’s unknown if Éire Festival will continue for another edition, due to the broadcaster being involved in other projects at this moment. However it’s not ruled out if we manage to find a window and if enough artists will show interest in taking part. A few potential entries have been already submitted and will be evaluated by professional juries and when the time comes, a decision will be taken. See you in Russia!

Serbia confirms participation in North Vision Song Contest #35
RTS has announced that Serbia will participate in North Vision Song Contest #35
Another edition of BMGP will be held, with 10 songs competing to participate. Due to a string of poor results, RTS hopes to experiment with a new voting system.
Round 1 - The 10 songs will be open to a public vote. Everyone - HoDs, co-HoDs and non-participants - will be allowed to vote for up to 3 songs. The 3 songs that received the most votes will advance to round 2. (In the event of a tie, the song that received its last vote later will qualify)
Round 2 - The final 3 songs will be assessed by a 5-person judging panel, who will give comments on each song, and how well they think the song will do in the actual contest. The song deemed to have the best chance will be the winner. This round is put in place in order to prevent fluke results (coughstillnotoverjengyallosingtothecodecough). Applications will open when our entries are sent for approval - it is only open to HoDs (not Co-HoDs) who have qualified to the final in at least 3 of the last 5 editions.
(This system may be subject to change depending on practicality)
RTS has also announced that, should they be so unfortunate, Serbia will not participate in the #36 pre-qualification round

ALGERIA CONFIRMS FOR NVSC #35
ENTV can confirm that Algeria will be present for the thirty-fifth edition of the contest. Despite finishing last in the previous edition with Adrien Gallo's "Monokini", the broadcaster remained optimistic given the country is currently on its longest streak of Grand Final appearances.
Head of Delegation Stefan Kayteb confirmed that the broadcaster has already been in contact with a number of artists and that the nation would likely select their representative through an internal process again. Acts have also been invited to directly submit entries to the broadcaster with HoD confirming interest in representing Algeria in the contest is at "an all-time high".

AB SOFORT ENTSCHEIDEST DU! After many editions of internal selections, Austria introduces a new national selection format. These are exciting and thrilling days as the Austrian commission for selecting their next entry gets into full shape. Approved by the head of delegation, a new format to select the upcoming future entries for Austria in North Vision Song Contest is being tested for the first time at the 35th edition. It has been in the mindset of ORF as early as the thirty-second edition, when it became clear that Austria had to reshape itself after a placement in the pre-qualification round. Originally planned to be released in the thirty-third edition and cancelled to send ELIS NOA, now, after a break for one edition, we can indeed confirm that this is the method we want to keep up for at least the upcoming few editions. We want to give everyone who watches and partakes in North Vision Song Contest a voice and chance to get to know our talented musicians from across the country, as well as potential international acts from our neighbours in Bavaria and more. We humbly introduceKaiserschmarrn (eng. "Emperor's Mess") is an Austrian dish named in favour of the former royal house's preferences in sweet delicacies. It is also the new public selection method as commissioned by ORF to determine the entries for Austria. In an egalitarian system that promotes gender diversity, local acts from various states and international Austrians who work and live in different countries. This is not a mere national selection, its purpose is the promotion of the best Austria can deliver apart from doing well in the competition. Unlike with the preceding show "Your Choice for Austria" which ran until the 26th edition, we strive to have a unitary format that lasts and allows for equal opportunities for the acts. The entries - eight in number, as well as the juries will be handpicked by the delegation to promote cultural diversity. Just as Austria prevails to be culturally inclined to finesse and quality, so does this production reflect the unique architecture of Austria's way. Applications as well as the revelation of the entries will happen in the coming days. More information shall be awarded to the public following that point.
Am 26 Dezember 2020 in Graz veröffentlicht. Alle Rechte gehen an ORF und NBU.

Unfortunately due to some personal issues I couldn't really enjoy the latest edition as much as the previous ones, and I feel like taking a break now, till everything is resolved, feels like the best option since I don't feel like it's worth it joining just for the shake of it. I'm pretty confident that everything will be back on track by the time the 36th edition starts so you're gonna have more of Cyprus from then on.

Estonia will travel to Russia!
Following a tremendous result in the past edition thanks to Jozel's song Milka, Estonia can confirm they will keep participating in the North Vision Song Contest. Despite some voices in the country demanding a withdrawal due to political clashes with the host country of next edition, Russia, the broadcaster ERR has decided to confirm for NVSC 35 as well. The Head of Delegation, Matilda Saarinen; stressed in a statement released today the "apolitical nature" of the contest. "in this contest, countries like Israel and Algeria, or Armenia and Azerbaijan can participate with each other, and give points to each other. We dont see a reason why we need to treat this differently", the statement further read. Just like usual in the past few editions, Estonia will once again select their entry internally. Artists who are interested can still send in their entries to ERR in an attempt to get the chance to represent our country.

Ireland withdraws. Tbh I don’t feel very well and I’ve had some breakdowns lately and I feel like I will force myself to vote by the deadlines and instead of wasting a spot for a PQR qualifier I will rather skip one edition and come back in better shape next edition. Thank you.
