THE NETHERLANDS TO COMPETE IN ITALY! AVROTROS can announce that The Netherlands will compete in the thirty-fsixth edition of the North Vision Song Contest!
After qualifying to the Grand Final of the thirty-fifth edition in Italy, and achieving a fantastic 9th place, The Netherlands will return once again. Appetite within The Netherlands has not faltered, and thus the broadcaster has no current reasons to withdraw.
AVROTROS also can confirm that the selection method will be internal. The channel wants to stress that this is due to budget and time constraints of the delegation, and that Noordvisie Song Festival will return in later editions.
The hunt for the Dutch NVSC entry has begun, and one thing can be sure. It will be serving the Netherlands' finest in terms of music, lyrics & performance, whilst promoting smaller acts within the Netherlands.
Any suggestions from around Europe (and Australia) are more than welcome, and is encouraged by AVROTROS.

EIN HOCH AUF DEN GRAND PRIX! Austria confirms after a spectacularly surprising eight place for Yukno, a peak for this delegation. The interest in the contest has reignited as the country, which has been in a low for some time due to disappointing placements, gained some recognition across Europe. While Italy won the contest, the Styrian duo Yukno were able to come in at 8th place, with the highest score achieved by the current delegation working for Austria. They received the famous 12 points, the douze points, a staggering seven times in the jury voting, tied in first only with Denmark. A good placement for Austria suggested the continuation in participation, which has now been confirmed by ORF. Due to the good debut of the national selection, Austria will opt for this method once more. Der zweite Kaiserschmarrn will be held, with an increased amount of participants. In light of the most recent developments, ORF has received numerous entries wishing to take part in the North Vision Song Contest, prompting an increase in numbers.

Lebanon will participate in NVSC #36!
Following a second consecutive participation in the final and a very respectable fifteenth place finish by Dana Hourani with her song "Enti Ana", LBC has confirmed the Lebanese presence in the upcoming thirty-sixth North Vision Song Contest, expected to be held in Italy.
« We are all delighted by Dana’s fifteenth place in Saint Petersburg, exceeding our expectations by qualifying from a strong semi-final and holding her own amongst very tough competition in the final. We cannot wait to announce who her successor will be, having held productive discussions with a number of artists in the past few weeks. »
In spite of the success of the mahrajan al’aghnia selection format, bringing Lebanon two consecutive qualifications, LBC has, due to a combination of scheduling constraints and a lack of funding from the sponsors it relied on to bring the selection to life in the previous two editions, announced that its next North Vision entry will be selected internally. The song will, unsurprisingly, be presented in June, although no specific date has been given.
« By no means have we seen the last of mahrajan al’aghnia. We are already looking at our schedules and considering the possibility of bringing it back within the next couple of editions, but for this edition we have chosen to select our artist and song internally. We’re using the internal selection process as an opportunity to take more of a risk with our song choice, and right now are in advanced talks with one artist in particular, who we think could bring an entry unlike anything Lebanon has sent to North Vision before. »
A number of Lebanese news portals have begun speculating who may be representing Lebanon, with a number of sites suggesting that the lack of an open submission process may mean the broadcaster has lined up a big name from the country's music industry for the contest. LBC has refused to confirm or deny rumours, however has stated that, for the upcoming edition, it is "committed to local talent rather than internationally-based artists and diaspora entries".
Lebanon’s NVSC journey made the best possible start as Nicole Saba won for the country on their debut in the fifth edition with 'Hafdal Ahlam', bringing the contest to Beirut for the sixth edition and starting a (to this day unmatched) three-edition qualification streak. The country’s results from then on were rather turbulent, including two four-edition streaks of non-qualifications, although Myriam Fares achieved Lebanon’s second best result with 'Nifsi Aoulhalak' in the fourteenth edition: second place.
A new delegation stepped in for the twenty-fourth edition, bringing Lebanon back to the final with Nelly Makdessy’s 'Kunt Atmanna' in Vienna, and achieving three top ten results for the country (with 'Call Me a Stranger', '22' and 'Dear Jealousy') before passing the baton on to the current delegation team for the thirty-fourth edition onwards, returning to the final – and to the top ten – with Azure Ryder's 'Stronger'.
Brought to you by the Lebanese Head of Delegation on 29th May 2021
