Severe Cheating Incident

Since several editions of the North Vision Song Contest, the NBU council has

been watching four different countries that are now accused to be cheating.

These countries are:

Croatia

Georgia

Montenegro

Morocco

The Facts

All of these countries have an obviously similar voting style. Since several

editions, Georgia, Montenegro and Morocco have been giving their 12 points
to Croatia (as long as they were in the same Semi Final)
and they have been exchanging their 12 points in several editions.

We have some proves for that:

NVSC #5 Semi Final 1

NVSC #5 Final

NVSC #6 Semi Final 2

NVSC #7 Semi Final 1

Apart from this, the NBU checked the IP addresses of the users.
Although they have different IP addresses, there are two pairs of
users, that have the same coordinates from accessing the internet.
Even if you live in the same city, your coordinates CANNOT
EXACTLY the same but in this case, they are.

Vaneedas and 1MusicFun2013 do have the exact same coordinates.

eurosongbh and andreagomezsolis do have the exact same coordinates.

All of which are located in Croatia.


The same cheating issue has already happened before.
In the Imagine Song Contest YouTube users also had
similar/same voting patterns and the host immediately
acted to prevent the contest from cheating.

All NBU council members agreed that the following steps should be taken:

• All of the users listed above will be banned from NVSC due to cheating
• Vaneedas might still vote as Croatia in the Semi Final
• All four countries' votes in the Grand Final of NVSC #8 will be replaced by one associate broadcaster each
• The four countries will withdraw from NVSC #9
• The four countries will be accessable for new users on the waiting list
• The four new HoDs can confirm from NVSC #10 onwards
• Due to the "low" number of participants in NVSC #9, there won't be a PQR
  
  

The NBU apologizes for the incidents and hopes
for a future without cheating in the contest.

Brand new idea for the Togethertube Live Shows

Earlier this week the NBU was discussing about how to make the Togethertube shows more enjoyable.

All the council members agreed on the fact that the full show shall come on the results' day of each event (the next saturdays for the semifinals, and TBA for the final). 

The schedule for each evening including final would then be Opening Act, Songs, Recap, Interval Act, Results of the respective event. The brand new postcards will also be presented before each country/song during the live show.

Still, every recap will be online on mondays, of course, so that each country votes and another mini-show will be hosted on TT at that time, but only the recap will be broadcasted.

If everything goes well and as planned, this method will remain in the further editions as well.

Three new rules to be implemented

Over the past few weeks, the NBU have been in discussion about the current situation regarding the NVSC rules.
Rules regarding internal song selections, national selections and country swapping were brought into question and have since been modified by the NBU.

Internal selections
From the tenth edition on wards, countries that choose to select their entries internally must now be granted permission by the NBU.
This is to both help prevent confusion amongst broadcasters and to check if artists and songs are eligible to represent the country in question.

National selections
From the tenth edition on wards, songs which have participated in a previous edition of your country’s national selection will no longer be eligible to participate in the selection again.
This means that former NS/NVSC artists will still be able to participate in a country’s national selection, but they will no longer be able to submit a song more than once.

Swapping nations
From the tenth edition on wards, if a HoD would like to swap countries with another HoD, they will have to withdraw from the competition for at least one edition.
This is to help prevent "innocent" HoDs and countries from appearing in the pre-qualification round.

Change for the Final voting!

The NBU has decided that from this edition onwards, the PQR non-qualifiers
will be able to vote in the Grand Final (and only the Grand Final) of each edition.The decision was made longer
ago but not yet verified by the executive supervisors.

Introducing Online Voting for the Grand Final

The eleventh edition will bring an additional change to the final voting of the contest: not only PQR countries will be able to give their opinion about the songs by voting on the scoreboard, but from now on also international youtube viewers will be able to cast their votes through an online poll which will open and close simultaneously with the european voting lines. 

Even if the results of the poll won't be counted in the actual voting, the winner of it will receive the "International Award" during the final winner reprise.

Meet the hosts and the location!

DR has decided to come back to the old format for NVSC'12 and bring more hosts on stage this time, unlike in the past editions: a man and a woman.



Lise was born in Viborg, Denmark, and is known for having hosted popular Danish shows such as "The X Factor Denmark". She is optimistic about her task and wants to give the best on stage in order to entertain the viewers. The second host, Casper, was born in Birkerød in the late 1968 and is a Danish actor and comedian. He has hosted many shows, including Casper & Mandrilaftalen, the Danish airing of Shooting Stars and Don't Forget Your Toothbrush (Husk lige tandbørsten), and the Danish version of Deal or No Deal. He also had a leading role in the Danish sit-coms Langt fra Las Vegas (Far Away from Las Vegas) and Klovn (Clown/Fool).

The hosts are now looking forward to meet all the viewers and Northfans live on the 19th and 26th January 2015 and on the 2nd February 2015.

Jyske Bank Boxen (Herning)




The estimated capacity for the event is around 15.000 people. DR has already spoken with the management of the venue and everything will be ready for the contest. The local Town Hall will work to make Herning a "Northvision Village" where fans can accomodate, eat and relax during their trip to Denmark. 

The visual & technical aspects of the show will be created and developed by the team Saalfeld.

If last time you were asked to send an own musical composition for the Northvision Song Contest #11, this year the #YourNVSCIdea trend continues and has a different task for you!

You can send (until the 10th of January) some selfies of yours, which will be included in the Official Intro (Opening Act) of the Grand Final.

Requirements? The selfie must include a paper with the #TeamCountry you support in #12!
You can do a photo alone, with your friends & family, or whoever you want to appear on the recap videos!

Semi Final Allocation Draw on Saturday!

Don't miss the first ever live Semi-final allocation draw on Saturday,
28 February. The show will start at about 11:00CET (morning).
You can react and share your live reactions in the chat
during the draw. The show will last about 30 minutes!

All of the other draws will be made live aswell. You will always get
informed before in this thread. The running order draw will take place on
12 March. The running order draws for the Final will always be held
a few minutes after the Semi-final results are known.
